When you create an account we store your username, email address, and a securely hashed version of your password. Content you create — recipes, photos, cookbooks, and who you follow — is stored so the app can work.
When you import a recipe from a link or scan one from a photo, the page text, caption, or photo is processed by OpenAI to extract the recipe. This content is not used to train their models.
We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't use third-party tracking or analytics. Your email is used only for signing in.
Data is stored on servers in the European Union (AWS, eu-central-1) and served via Fly.io. Photos you upload are stored on Amazon S3.
Your profile, recipes, and follower counts are visible to other Pin a Pie users. Your email address is never shown to anyone.
You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account inside the app. This permanently removes your account and all your content. You can also email us at the address below.
